Kenya, Nairobi, Jungle Junction. Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 September. Week 22, days 162 and 163.

“Remember that happiness is a way of travel, not a destination.” Roy Goodman.

Monday saw us traipsing back to central Nairobi again, this time to collect our letter of introduction and verification from the SA consulate for the Sudan visa. This means that they took 4 days to have it ready, but to be fair a South African public holiday intervened, so best make it 3 days. Unlike many other embassies they do not charge for this service.

Kenya, Lake Naivasha and Hells Gate NP. Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September. Week 21 and 22, days 159 - 161.

We badly needed to find a break from all the admin and rushing about in Nairobi. We thus headed for the fairly nearby Lake Naivasha and Hells Gate NP.

Kenya, Nairobi, Jungle Junction. Thursday 24 September. Week 21, day 158.

“Chaos is found in greatest abundance wherever order is being sought. It always defeats order, because it is better organized.” - Terry Pratchett.

Yes we are still in Nairobi at Jungle Junction, not because of any fatal attraction for Nairobi, although she has been good to us, but because as others had warned, the visa and exit formalities are extremely slow, tedious and central Nairobi is chaotic.

Kenya, Nairobi, Jungle Junction. Friday to Sunday 18 to 20 September. Weeks 20 and 21, days 152 – 154.

“I wandered everywhere, through cities and countries wide. And everywhere I went, the world was on my side.”

To my amazement the sun rose this Sunday morning, I managed to resist scraping off my ZA sticker and burning my Springbok jersey. The Aussies in camp were playing The House of the Rising Son and laughing at us, times are tough being a Saffer and a rugby supporter. I wish we had been deep in the bush and had remained ignorant of the Springbok capitulation to Japan at the Rugby World Cup.
